my sugar cookie recipe

what u will need

1/2 c. shortening
3 tbsp. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
2 c. flour

how to do it ....

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, vanilla and milk; mix well. Then add salt, baking powder and flour. Roll out on floured surface; cut to desired shape. Lift dough up with knife edge and put the top side of the dough into colored sprinkles or sugar that is poured onto a plate. Then bake at 375 degrees for about 12 minutes. Cool, then eat! I usually double or triple this batch recipe when baking cookies. If the milk is warm, the dough will smooth out better. Flour the rolling pin to make it easier to roll out the dough. If dough is too soft to handle when you roll it out, work some flour into the dough. Just a little bit is all that is needed.
